A landmark ruling by a High Court Judge has today confirmed that Theresa May must present plans to Parliament and gain their support, before she can trigger Article 50 and start the Brexit process. It will mean that MPs are able to contribute and must approve the Article 50 process, not just the PM who has royal prerogative.

Following the ruling, the Sterling has taken a sharp jump in value of 1.1%, finishing at $1.2438, but the FTSE100 has also fallen 0.8% at the same time. The value of the pound has also been further bolstered by the stability of interest rates, which remain at 0.25% and thanks to the Bank of England’s forecast that economic growth will be 1.4%, a rise of 0.6% from the original prediction of 0.8%.
