The Channel Partnership raises £6000 for charity

We’ve raised more than £6000 for our nominated charity – Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) – by turning drives into donations during the pandemic.

Tom Rolfe explains: “Our business Is built on close working relationships with our clients which, pre-Covid, meant jumping in our cars for a drive. But with successive lockdowns making that difficult, and with the support of our clients, like so many other businesses we replaced face to face meetings where we could with video calls.

“This got us thinking. We were reducing CO2 emissions, which is great, but we were also saving money on fuel. We felt we could put this saving towards a good cause.”

Account Executive Emma Vokins proposed that donations go to CHSW. She said: “We initially estimated a target donation of £2000, but as clients embraced the idea of video calling there were fewer journeys and the savings started to mount up.

“Along with a couple of other fundraising initiatives we had, we couldn’t be more delighted to write a cheque for £6,348 to this outstanding local charity.”

Amanda Gallagher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW, said: “We are incredibly grateful to The Channel Partnership for their support over the past year.

“By supporting Children’s Hospice South West they are standing with us to help hundreds of families who need our love and support now more than ever. The lockdowns have brought new and often terrifying challenges to families caring for children with life-limiting conditions and it is only with the wonderful support from local people and businesses that we can continue to be here whenever and however our families need us.”

Staff at The Channel Partnership have also been learning about the work of CHSW, and will be donating their own time to support the work of the charity’s Charlton Farm Hospice in Wraxall, North Somerset.
