You may already know that we are supporting Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) in a range of ways, but have you heard of their Business Club?

It’s a new initiative that is designed to help companies build like-minded business connections while supporting this fantastic cause.

Why did The Channel Partnership get involved?

We started an initiative in 2020 while in the midst of lockdown to raise funds for CHSW by making a donation when we replace a physical journey with a video call. (You can read about our campaign here.)

Getting involved with them has been a great opportunity to ‘give something back’, and we’ve been able to learn more about what a difference the charity makes for local children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They have three brilliant hospices across Devon and Somerset, one of which – Charlton Farm – is local to us.

We have found their positive attitude in dealing with heartbreaking situations an inspiration for our whole team.

Until Covid allows us to get our hands dirty and spend a day or two at Charlton Farm, we at the Channel Partnership wanted to see what else we could do to support CHSW – and their newly launched Business Club sounded perfect!

So what is the CHSW Business Club?

The Business Club was launched to celebrate 2021 being the 30th anniversary year of CHSW, in an effort to raise a healthy £30,000!

They’ve set a target of recruiting 100 member businesses and no more, to create a ‘special’ close network of fellow supporters. Once all 100 businesses are onboard, then they will have achieved their £30,000 target.

The uptake has already been amazing and there are only a couple of places left.

All monies raised will help with their ongoing respite care, end-of-life care and bereavement support for the families they support. For us that’s enough reward to be part of this initiative.
