Charity donation by The Channel Partnership during Covid

We’ve used Covid to our advantage to raise money for charity. Want to join us?

We all know that Covid has had an impact on many areas of business and most of that impact is negative. At The Channel Partnership, we are always trying to look for the positives. As a business, we pay 15p per mile for business mileage and as a result of the switch to video conferencing we’ve saved hundreds of pounds in fuel costs.

We’re also well aware that charities have struggled as fundraising events have not been taking place. We just joined the dots. Any time our clients request a video call to replace a face-to-face meeting, we work out the saving in business mileage costs and add that to our charity pot.

So far by January 2021 we’d raised £1600 for Children’s Hospice South West (since August), and we’re well on target for our challenge of raising £3000 by July 2021.

Update April 2021: We’ve now raised a whopping £4200 and have adjusted our target to £5000! You can now make donations too – just visit our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/channelpartnership

Amanda Gallagher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said: “This is such a brilliant fundraising idea by The Channel Partnership and we are so grateful to the company for thinking of CHSW.

“Video conferencing has been a huge part of 2020 and to see staff spot it as an opportunity to support the charity is fantastic. It’s only thanks to such creativity and generosity that we are able to continue caring for local families who need our love and support now more than ever.”

We are, of course, encouraging any clients who want to contribute when they speak via video call or phone to speak with us. It’s for a great cause. We’ve chosen to support the local Charlton Farm hospice, situated in Wraxall, North Somerset, which is part of CHSW and does vital work caring for children and families who live in South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, West Wiltshire, Bristol City and North Somerset.
